Myrtle Ellen Robbins, 100, of Bedford, passed away on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 1:47 AM at Garden Villa, Bedford.
Born February 4, 1918 in Lawrenceport, Indiana, she was the daughter of Harvey Curtis and Cora Effie (Enochs) Chastain.
She married Leathel Opal Robbins on December 24, 1938 and he preceded her in death in February of 1993.
Myrtle was a homemaker and read the bible through every year. She loved crocheting, cooking, and watching TV.
She was a 75 year member of the First Nazarene Church in Bedford.
Surviving are children, Richard Opal (Evelyn) Robbins and Eva Mae (Leonard) Bright; grandchildren, Debbie (Bill) Norman, Angela (Larry) Tomlin, Teresa (Paul) Rose, David (Delsey) Bright, and Paul (Tina) Bright; great-grandchildren, Kreg Terry, Darren Terry, McKinley Norman, Jenna Norman, Matthew Tomlin, Jacob Tomlin, Hannah Tomlin, Sarah Tomlin, Daniel Wynne III, Joshua Bright, Victoria Bright, and Matthew Bright; and sister-in-law and caregiver, Eva May Robbins, who took care of her for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; eight brothers, Claude, Clyde, Dale, Floyd, Clifford, Howard, Theodore “Pete”, and Ray; and three sisters, Madge Smith, Nancy Mae Blevins, and Marie McFarlan.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, with Jerry Hillenburg and Doyle Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery.
