George Perry Lane, 72 of Jesup died Wednesday, August 8, 2018 after a short illness. The Wayne County native was a retired welder and enjoyed outdoor activities. He was predeceased by his parents, Alton and Mary Lane.
Survivors are his wife, Helen Teele Lane of Jesup; a son, Perry Smith of Hortense; a step-daughter, Michele Bennett of Jesup; 4 sisters, Mildred “Sister” Anderson, Janet Evors, Lora Barwick Dowdy and Joan Kennedy, all of Jesup; two brothers, A.W. Lane, Jr. of Stockbridge and Kenny Lane of Mt. Pleasant; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be 11 A.M. Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Arnett Family Cemetery, 2500 Post Road, Hortense, Ga. 31543 with Rev. Jimmy Dowdy officiating. Active pallbearers will be his family.
Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
