Mrs. Ola Marie Nolen, 82, of 608 Fairlane Drive, Vanceburg, died at 1:50 a.m. Monday, September 5, 1988 in the emergency room at Mercy Hospital, Portsmouth, after a brief illness. She was the wife of Wiley Nolen.
Mrs. Nolen was born in Lewis County on March 29, 1906, daughter of the late James Rube and Mary Edington Bloomfield. She was a member of the Saylor Branch Church of God at Laurel Point in Lewis County.
Surviving besides her husband are a daughter, Mrs. Betty Caseman, of Vanceburg; one son, Bertram Nolen, of Caledonia, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Howard, of Newark, Ohio and Mrs. Jessie Logan and Flossie Bryant, both of Route 1, Vanceburg; two brothers, Kelly Bloomfield, of Bucyrus, Ohio and Clyde Bloomfield, of Nevada, Ohio; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by seven small children, a son, Fred Nolen, who died in 1977, and a brother, Roy Bloomfield.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, at the Dickerson Funeral Home, Vanceburg. Rev. Jack Crockett officiated and burial was in the Nolen Cemetery at Laurel Point.
