Charles Herman Culler, Sr. 81, of 5816 Fifth Street NW, Washington, D.C., died Friday evening at Wheaton Nursing Home. He was the husband of Alta Jane (Hooper) Culler who survives. Born in Frederick County, he was a son of the late William L. and Jane R. (Wiles) Culler.
Survivors in addition to his widow include one son, Charles Herman Culler Jr. of Bethesda; one brother, Lloyd B. Culler of Frederick; one sister, Mrs. Blanche Heffner of Frederick; three grandchildren, William L. Culler of Silver Spring, John C. Culler of Potomac and Miss Sara J. Culler of Bethesda; one great-grandchild, Michael Todd Culler of Silver Spring. Mr. Culler was a member of Luther Place Memorial Church, Thomas Circle, Washington. Funeral services will be held at the Etchison Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Tuesday, followed by interment in Luther Cemetery, Middletown.

Campbell McKinnon, pastor of the Luther Place Memorial Church, Thomas Circle, Washington, D.C., officiated. Pallbearers were David Culler, Leon Culler, Paul Culler, William Culler, Clarence Flook and Robert Rice. Interment was in the Lutheran Cemetery, Middletown.
