A long time resident of Haddonfield, NJ, passed away on December 6, 2013.
Mrs. Holfelner was born in Washington, DC and grew up in Waldorf, MD. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Dr. Edward D. Holfelner, a prominent surgeon in the greater Philadelphia area. She is survived by her three children: Mary Helen Kattermann of Rio Verde, AZ, Barbara Anne Holfelner of Haddonfield, NJ and Edward D. Holfelner, Jr. of Haddonfield, NJ; 5 grandchildren: George Kattermann, Jr., Karen Konisky, Kimberly Joy, Greta Carlson and Caroline Holfelner, 9 great grandchildren, a brother, George R. Robey, Jr. of Bethany Beach, DE and a sister, Mary Ann Meyers of Mt. Kenney, TX.
Mrs. Holfelner was a graduate of La Plata High School, attended St. Joseph College, Emmersburg, MD and graduated from Georgetown University School of Nursing. She was very active in the Hospital Auxiliaries of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Camden, Misericordia Hospital and Fitzgerald Mercy Hospitals in Philadelphia. She was a longtime member of Tavistock Country Club, where she was the Ladies Club Champion many times.
We as a family were so blessed to have such a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother with whom to share our lives. We will miss her deeply and wish her peace in God's hands.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation Tuesday, December 10th, 9:30 to 11 AM at Christ The King RC Church, 200 Windsor Ave., Haddonfield, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill, NJ.
