ALGOMA RECORD, Friday, June 23, 1916, Page 2: Mrs. C. Arpin Buried Monday - Pioneer of Kewaunee Caunty (sic) Died Last Thursday as Result of a Fall. Lived Here Half a Century.
The funeral of Mrs. Charles Arpin, Sr., was held at High Mass from the Holy Rosary Catholic Church here on Monday morning, Rev. W. C. Kubale, officiating.
Mrs. Arpin died at her home here last Thursday morning after a painful illness of several days, the result of a fall sustained some two weeks ago.
Mrs. Arpin was one of the pioneer residents of Kewaunee County. She was born in Drummondville, Canada December 28, 1828, and at the time of her death was in her 88th year. In the year 1849 she was united in married to Charles Arpin at St. Francis, Canada, and was the mother of 11 children, nine of whom survive her.
Mrs. Arpin accompanied by her husband came to Kewaunee County and settled in the town of Carlton in the early sixties. She has been a resident of the city of Kewaunee for hte (sic) past 25 years. Her husband now in his 97th year, with the following children survive her: Mrs. Adrian Norton and Charles W. Arpin of Kewaunee, Mrs. Igieve St. Peter of Mattoon; Mrs. Olline Kamen of Chicago, Mrs. W. H. Timlin of Milwaukee; Mrs. Math Strutz of Algoma, Mrs. Ellen Carley of Appleton; Dennis Arpin of Carlton and Alfred Arpin of Luxemburg.
Six grandchildren of the deceased, acted as pall bearers, they were William and Frank Arpin, Albert Holup, Norbert Strutz, George Carley and Dan Boucher.
Those present at the funeral from out of the city were Mr. and Mrs. William Bruce and son of Appleton; Mrs. Maggie Balonge of Menominee, Mchigan (sic); Mrs. Albert Holub of Menominee, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Allie and Mrs. Allie, Sr. of Two Rivers, Frank Laforce and Edward Gauthier of Two Rivers; Miss Verna Carley of Appleton, Mr. and Mrs. Math Strutz, daughter Miss Clara and son George of Algoma; Mrs. A. S. Smith of Tigerton, Mrs. Alfred Arpin and children of Luxemburg and Mrs. Alfred Arpin of Carlton.
