AMERICAN FORK - Fern Iva Olsen McDaniel, 65, died December 16, 1989 in Provo, Utah.
She was born June 23, 1924 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah to Ernest Lorenzo and Iva Pearl Nielsen Olsen. She married Mereton Leroy McDaniel on February 20, 1954 in Las Vegas, Nevada; the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1967. He died October 22, 1968. She was a member of the LDS Church, American Fork 12th Ward and served in various positions. She worked for the Division of Family Services for 29 years, as an executive secretary of the director, medical clerk and social worker in charge of licensing and monitoring daycare providers in Utah County.
She is survived by a son and four daughters, Mereton Lance McDaniel, American Fork; Mrs. Duane (Jeanette) Eldns, Pleasant Grove; Mrs. Stephen H. (Shiela) Wittlock, Provo; Mrs. Woody (Nila) Shannon and Mrs. Sharyn Wareham, both of Orem; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Clark (Ardath) Haynes; Mrs. Don (Carma) Davidson; Blain Olsen all of Salt Lake City; Lloyd Olsen, Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. Morris (Sharlene) Mower, California; Mrs. Gordon (Pamela) Bailey, Vernal; Mrs. Gary (Sandra) Hendry, Orem.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m., American Fork 12th Ward, 600 E 300 North. Friends may call at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, Tuesday, 6-8 pm. and Wednesday one hour prior at the church. Burial will be in the Alpine Cemetery.
