MOTHER DIES

Mrs. Elethier Bunker Chidester Merricks aged 49 of Altoonah, Utah died January 15th in the Price City Hospital following a four weeks illness and two very serious operations. Mrs. Merricks was born at Annabella, Utah a daughter of William E. Bunker and Sarah Burgess Bunker. Later she was married to Parker J. Chidester who died in the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City in 1912 and was brought to Delta for burial. Three years later she moved to Altoonah, Utah were she was a very active church member and loved by everyone who knew her. Twelve years ago she married George Merricks by whom she is survived and who was present at her bedside when the end came. She is also survived by her father William E. Bunker aged 72 of Delta and by the following children; Mrs. Violet Stoddard, Delta; William L., Lafayette and Jay Chidester of Price all of whom were with their mother when death came. Also survived by the following grandchildren, Oran, George, Helen and Luella Stoddard, Delta; Ruby and Betty Ann Chidester, Price and by her brothers and sisters, E. H. Bunker, Springville; Lyda Taylor, W. L. Bunker, Jetty Bunker, Delta; Amanda Dewsnup, Deseret; Owen Bunker, Fillmore; Grace Peterson, Dorothy Bunker, Salt Lake City. The funeral services were held in Delta. The speakers were Edgar W. Jeffery, William N. Gardner and Anthony E. Stephenson. A solo "Lay My Head Beneath the Rose" was sung by Mrs. Ora Gardner. Interment was held in Delta
