He Attended High School in Tulsa, OK.
Served in the Navy on the USS Magoffin at sea as an Interior Communications Electrician and was honorably discharged in January 1964. He was a member of the IBEW Local 584 for more than 54 years and worked throughout the U.S.. He also served as the union's Assistant Business Manager, Assistant Dispatcher & on the Apprenticeship Committee.
David was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his three sons, Toni Colleen (Browning) Hartshorne; his brother, Larry Hartshorne and his sister, Reba (Hartshorne) Haley.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years Vonda (Allison) Hartshorne; sons David Hartshorne JR.; Dean Hartshorne (Cristina); Dale Hartshorne (Sheri); Stepchildren Cheryl Hilser; Julie Byford (Joe); Kevin Harrison; Sisters Teresa Yarnell and Laura Hamilton; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of David’s life will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.
Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday at I.O.O.F. (Hulbert) Cemetery in Hulbert, Oklahoma.
