Mrs. Player was born a daughter of the late Forest Vernon and Helen Mason Sidbury. She was preceded in death by a sister Marjie S. Burnett. Mrs. Player was a lifelong member of Pike Rocky Point Presbyterian Church, and a lifetime member of women of the church. She was an elder and treasurer at the church for many years. She retired from Pender County school system. Mrs. Player of Rocky Point, died at New Hanover Regional Medical Center at age 80.
