Nettie Mae Hillis, the daughter of the late Thomas L. and Oma Lewis Hillis, was born in Center Ridge, Ark., on Oct. 31, 1916, and died at the St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., on Sunday, Dec. 25, 2005, at the age of 89. She had lived in Dexter for many years until moving to Memphis, Tenn., a few years ago. She was a member of the Getwell Church of Christ in Memphis, Tenn. Surviving are one brother, Leonard S. Hillis of Memphis, Tenn. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence and T.L. Hillis; and three sisters, Ressie Flowers, Ruby Alma Hillis, and Ellen Eason. Visitation will be held after 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel of Dexter. Interment will follow in Dexter Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
