WINTER HAVEN - Rockwood 'Rock' Norton Berry, 99, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Spring Haven Retirement, Winter Haven, FL. Predeceased by his wife Louise (Garland) Berry, sons David and Richard Berry, and brothers Howard, Ronald, and Theodore Berry, Rock is survived by daughter Katherine and her husband Curt Oestreich of Leesburg, FL; daughter Cynthia Berry and Joseph Parker of Lake Wales, FL; daughter-in-law Pamela Berry of Waterford, CT; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; brothers Thomas and Carlton Berry of Livermore, ME; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Rock was born in Livermore, Maine, the son of Lewis and Erma Berry. He is a 1941 graduate of the University of Maine (B.S. in Horticulture), and a World War II veteran (Captain, US Army, 101st Airborne, 550th BTN). In May 2015, he joined the Polk County (FL) Flight to Honor group to visit the World War II monument in Washington DC.
Rock and Louise were married for over 65 years. The family lived in Livermore, ME, and Suffield, CT. In the 1980s, Rock and Louise retired to Florida and they joined First Christian Church in Haines City.

Memorial service will be held on August 11, 2018 at 11:00 am at First Christian Church (DOC), 705 South 14th St., Haines City, FL 33844. Ashes will be inurned in the church columbarium.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Christian Church, Cornerstone Hospice, Alzheimer's research organization or Veteran's organization of donor's choice.
