BEATRICE — Glova Osborne, age 85, of Beatrice, formerly of Phillips, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at the Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, July 28 at the Phillips United Methodist Church. The Rev. Greg Reed will officiate. Interment will be in the Phillips Cemetery. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora is in charge of the arrangements.

Glova Gay Osborne, the daughter of Glen E. and Bertha A. (Wadkins) Billings, was born in Phillips on Nov. 21, 1932, and passed away in Beatrice on July 24, 2018, at the age of 85.

She grew up in Phillips and graduated from Phillips High School Class of 1950, and then attended Grand Island School of Business.

On Sept. 16, 1951, she was united in marriage to Daryle Laverne Osborne. Daryle and Glova had four children. Glova was a homemaker and stay-at-home mother most of her married life. She returned to work as a part-time secretary for the Phillips United Methodist Church. Daryle passed away on April 28, 2010. She lived most of her life in Phillips, until 2012, when she moved to the Hamilton Manor in Aurora.


Glova was a member of the Phillips United Methodist Church, and was involved in the United Methodist Women, the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #204 and Platte Deutsche.

Those left to cherish her memory are her four children, Bradley (Mary) Osborne of Henryetta, Okla., Keri (Tony) Anderson of Alma, Glenna (Bruce) Dorn of Beatrice and Tamera (Lance) Zach of Wakarusa, Kan.; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters-in-law, Barbara Linder of Lincoln and Sandra (Ron) Hahn of Weeping Water; two brothers-in-law, Joel Osborne of California and Lowell (Kathy) Osborne of Arizona; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; stepfather, Alfred Spiehs; and sister-in-law, Melva Jean Fergis.
