Robert worked as civil engineer with Northern Pacific Railroad 1885-93; had been superintendent home-finding department Children's Aid Society, N.Y.City, 1893 until retirement in 1931. Since retirement he had resided in Ridgefield, member St Stephen's Church (Episcopal), Ridgefield.
Robert married on June 5,1909, in New York City, to Elizabeth Mead, daughter of Augustus L. & Sarah E. (St John) Hyde. No children.
Death due to a cerebral hemorrhage Buried in Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, N.Y. Survived by wife and two sisters:
1. Emma Brace Donaldson (Smith ex-'8i), the widow of Henry H Donaldson (Yale '79)
2. Letitia Brace Croswell, the wife of James Croswell (B,A Harvard 1873) of Santa Barbara, Calif.
