Albert Evaskitis, 85 of Port Reading passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at St. Peters Medical Center in New Brunswick.

Born in Duryea, PA, and was a resident of Port Reading since 1961. He served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War and later retired from United Airlines after more than 40 years of employment. Mr. Evaskitis enjoyed crossword puzzles, word games and in earlier years also enjoyed spending time walking through the wooded areas in New Jersey in pursuit of a stream where he might catch a fish or two.

Albert was predeceased by his wife, Henrietta Pisano Evaskitis in May of 2013. He was also predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Agatha Evaskitis; sister, Rita Weinschenky; brothers, Joseph and Eugene Evaskitis and sister, Loraine Resavy. He is survived by his children, Brian Evaskitis; daughter, Debra Pawlek and her husband Michael along with grandchildren, Caitlyn and twins, Colin and Ryan. Also surviving is his sister, Arlene Masid and her husband Romeo.

Funeral services will begin at 9:30am on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from CHUBENKO FUNERAL HOME, 625 Port Reading Avenue, Port Reading followed by a 10am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church in Port Reading. Interment will follow at Brig. General William C. Doyle Veteran Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018 from 6pm to 9pm at the funeral home.
