Peggy Joan Gloden was the daughter of Mahlon and Jennie Elizabeth (Swartz) Stahl. She lived in St. Louis all her childhood and graduated St. Louis High School in 1952. She married Ronald Leo Gloden on September 4, 1959 in Lansing, Ingham Co., MI. Ron and Peggy had three children, Shawn, Rona and Ericka. They lived in Battle Creek for many years at 12910 Hedges Lane. She was a homemaker and was employed 15 years at the Federal Center as a clerk/typist prior to retirement in January 1996. She was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed oil painting and loved her children and grandchildren dearly. Her husband, Ronald Gloden preceded her in death on April 2, 1980 as well as her parents, and a brother Mahlon Deane 'Mike" Stahl in September 1998. Peggy died at her daughter's home in Galesburg at the age of 68 due to colon cancer which she fought for 4 years since be diagnosed. Survivors include her three children, son, Shawn G. (Ann) Gloden of Waterford; daughters, Rona M. (Jon) Evarts of Galesburg and Ericka L. Gloden of Galesburg; grandchildren, Courtney, Nicole and Rebecca Gloden and Alex and Mitch Evarts; and sisters, Beverly Denby of Leslie, June Allan of Demming, NM, Greta Freeman of Port St. Joe, Fl;, Gloria Bow and Joy Pontseele, both of Merrill, MI. Private burial services were held at Memorial Park Cemetery on October 4, 2002.
