Services for Virdia Mae Spurlock, 89, of the McCoinsville community of Jackson County, Tennessee, will be conducted on Saturday, February 6, 2010, at the Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, Tennessee. Interment will be following in the Pharris Cemetery in Jackson County.

She passed from this life on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
She was born May 7, 1920, in Jackson County, Tennessee, to the late James 'Bedford' and Lola Loftis Anderson. She was married to the late Ernest John Spurlock. She was a homemaker, and member of the McCoinsville Church of Christ.

Virdia was also preceded in death by 1 Grandson: TSgt Ernest Anthony Spurlock; 3 of her Brothers: Herman C. Anderson,
Fred Anderson, and Elbert Anderson; and 1 Sister: Doyal Anderson.
Survivors include 1 Son: Ernest Clay and Amanda Spurlock of Gainesboro, TN/Panama; 2 Grandchildren: Armando Pablo Spurlock and Amanda Cecile Sanchez, both of Panama City,
Panama; 6 Great-Grandchildren: Gustavo and Javier, John, Thomas and Ana Isabel, and Acella; 2 Brothers: Carl Anderson and
Clarence O. (Kathy) Anderson, all of Jackson County, Tennessee; and her 2 Sisters: Bonnie (S.W.) Forkum of Putnam County, Tennessee and Dona Anderson of Jackson County. Several nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services for Virdia Mae Spurlock, 89, of the McCoinsville Community of Jackson County, will be held Saturday, Feb. 6, at 1 p.m. at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pharris Cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 5, from 2-8 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 6, from 11 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Mrs. Spurlock died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

She was born May 7, 1920, in Jackson County to the late Bedford and Lola Loftis Anderson. Mrs. Spurlock was a homemaker and member of McCoinsville Church of Christ. Her family includes a son and daughter-in-law, Ernest Clay and Amanda Spurlock of Gainesboro and Panama; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Carl Anderson and Clarence O. and Kathy Anderson, all of Gainesboro; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Bonnie and S.W. Forkum of Cookeville and Dona Anderson of Gainesboro; two grandchildren, Armando Pablo Spurlock and Amanda Cecile Sanchez, both of Panama City, Panama; six great-grandchildren, Gustavo and Javier, John, Thomas and Ana Isabel and Acella; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Spurlock was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest J. Spurlock; three brothers, Herman C., Fred and Elbert Anderson; a sister, Doyle Anderson; and a grandson, Ernest Anthony Spurlock. Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate the services
