April 16 - An old resident of Wallaroo Mines. Mr. Aaron Northcott, died at his residence on Wednesday last, at the age of 75 years. He had been an invalid for many years, having been severely scalded by a boiler explosion nearly 20 years back. He was well known and respected, and prominently connected with the Salvation Army.
He was engaged in agricultural pursuits in the early days of the Peninsula, but the obstacles the pioneers had to contend with in those days were sufficient to drive him off the land. (From the Trove Website).
