Services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Veh and Son funeral home in Gibsonburg for Henry W. (Wesley) Beard, 76, west of town, who died at 4:45 Saturday afternoon in Fremont Memorial Hospital following an illness of two weeks.
Born in Gibsonburg on May 7, 1883, he was a son of the late John and Ella Blausey Beard. He resided in the surrounding area his entire life and was engaged in farming. His wife, the former Pearl Reeves, preceded in death in 1945. Two daughters and brother also preceded in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Miss Edith Beard, at home, and Mrs. Ella Turf of Terra Bella, Calif; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Carrie Shippy of Kingsville, Mo., and a brother Harold Beard of Lincoln, Nebr.
The Rev. Donald McClintock, pastor of Clyde Deliverance Tabernacle, of which Mr. Beard was a member, officiated at services and burial was in Gibsonburg cemetery, west.
