She married on August 6, 1846 in Manchester, Clay County, Kentucky to Marcellus (Dick) Moss from Tennessee. She was his first of three wives. They were parents of four children:

James M. b. 1847, Clay Co., KY
Nancy Jane b. 1850, Daviess Co., MO
William C. b. 1854, Cainsville, Harrison Co., MO
Franklin Payne b. 1857, Cainsville, Harrison Co., MO

Nancy died August 10, 1862 in Cainsville and is believed buried in the Zoar Cemetery. It is not known if she took a part in any of the community affairs during her time.

Her husband was a very prominent community leader and merchant in Cainsville. Following Nancy's passing he married twice. He turned the business over to their son James and eventually moved to California. He served as 1st Lieu, Co K, 44th Reg Mo Militia, a home guard.
