Bruno, Cecilia Margaret Thompson
88, passed away in Mesa Arizona following a full and happy life. She was the daughter of John Patrick and Mary Camilla (Meyer) Thompson. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada, she is survived by her sister Dorothy Campbell in Halifax and sons Ken and Tony Bruno in Phoenix, Arizona as well as numerous nieces and nephews in both the US and Canada. She was preceded in death by her husband Horace, siblings Jack, Mary Bridgett, Cyril, Jim, Ann, Kay Carroll and Emma Haverstock. Following her graduation from the Halifax Infirmary in 1945, she worked in Canada after World War II before moving to Arizona in 1948. Working originally in Phelps Dodge copper company hospitals in Ajo and Douglas Arizona, she was married in 1952. She worked in healthcare as a Register Nurse for over 40 years in private office, home care, hospital and infirmary settings ending her career at the Arizona Training Center in Coolidge Arizona caring for disabled children and adults. She returned to Canada often and traveled extensively to Europe, Australia and locations throughout North America following her retirement. Special thanks to her family and friends that knew her and cherished her over the years. A memorial service is planned for April 6th at the Messinger Indian School Mortuary in Scottsdale at 3 pm with a second service planned for later in the summer in Halifax, Nova Scotia (time and place to be announced).
