Born on Castleberry and lived in the Chimes AR area most of his life. He was a devout Christian, devoted family man and attended Trace Ridge Bible Church many, many years where he taught Sunday School and occasionally preached. He was an integral part of his church and community. He served as Youth Director at Bible Baptist Temple of Tulsa. Alfred was very active in his community and instrumental in forming the Chimes Fire Dept. He served on the board, was a firefighter and first responder for many years. He was an assistant Boy Scout Master and coached softball for underprivileged youth in Tulsa while his boys were growing up.
Alfred served his country in both the Navy and Army from 1955-1963 and was a recipient of a Good Conduct Medal.
Alfred worked as a machinist at several different machine shops, including one he and his brothers owned and operated in Tulsa during the early 1980's. When he moved back to Chimes, AR he went to work at Aeromotive in Clinton AR from about 1984 until his death. As a machinist, if a special tool was needed and they didn't have one, he could make that tool!
Alfred will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, grand-uncle and friend to many! Anyone who knew him loved him! He will be missed by all! He had a huge smile that lit up his face when he talked about his faith in God and what a glorious day it would be when he went to heaven!
His 3 favorite Bible verses were:
Philippians 4:13 I can do ALL things through Christ, who gives me strength.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and it is not from yourselves it is the gift of God, not by works so that no one can boast.
Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him and who have been called according to his purpose.
