A Memorial Service for Jimmy Royce Cloer, 79, of Mountain Springs, is set for 2:00 PM on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home in Gainesville. Interment will follow at the New Hope Cemetery in Mountain Springs. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 PM on Thursday, June 28 at the funeral home.

Jimmy passed away on June 25 in Whitesboro, TX. He was born on June 11, 1939 in Marietta, OK to Lonnie B. Cloer and Lorene (Alexander) Cloer Hite. He was a graduate of Valley View High School in 1957.

Except for a short while, Jimmy worked for himself for over 55 years as a framing contractor and general contractor in the Dallas area. He was very talented and had the honor of working on some of the largest and finest homes in Dallas, homes for ex-Dallas Cowboys players and politicians. He was one of the very best at what he did. Many of Jimmy’s customers became his lifelong friends. Jimmy also loved to fish trout and deer hunt.

He lived most of his life in Mountain Springs, TX. Jimmy married Ruth Ann Morgan in 1961 and they remained married all his life.

Survivors are his wife Ruth Ann (Morgan) Cloer and his son Jimmy Kevin Cloer and wife Malissa Ann (Blankenship) Cloer of Wylie, TX; granddaughters Ashley Nicole Cloer of Dallas and Jordan Lindsey (Cloer) and husband Dustin Homer of Austin, TX.

Jimmy is also survived by: brothers: Sam Cloer and wife Donna of Gainesville, and Bobby Cloer of Gordonville; sisters: Joann Ortez of Valley View, Perlene Newton and husband Norman of Valley View, and Kay Kerr and husband Brad of Collinsville; a dear aunt Norma Alexander of Gainesville; and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; paternal grandparents Samuel Franklin Cloer and Mary Raymouth (Higgison) Cloer Henderson; and maternal grandparents Oscar Gordon and Pearl Lucille (Massey) Alexander.
