A Memorial Service for Lonnie Clifford Cloer, 71, of Garland is set for March 3rd, at 2 pm at the Mountain Springs Community Center, Valley View with Pastor Patrick Hoffman officiating.
He passed away on February 8, at Methodist Hospital of Richardson, TX. He was surrounding by family.
He was born on August 19, 1946 in Mountain Springs, TX to Lonnie Bee and Lorene (Alexander) Cloer Hite. He was a graduate of Valley View High School in 1964. For a short time he was a fireman in Denton, TX however the Cloer male-family talents led him to carpenter work. He lived most of his life in Irving, TX, married Connie (Albright) Darnell in 1971.
Survivors are his children: son, Lonnie Dale Cloer and wife, Kim of Merdian, son, Steven Clifford Cloer and wife Hillary, of Belton, son, Lonnie Clifford Cloer, Jr. and wife Marianne of North Richland Hills, daughter, Stephanie Drucilla Cloer, of Irving, step-sons, Keith Darnell and wife Ann of Denton and Larry Darnell and wife Lisa of Argyle, 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Brothers, Sam Cloer and wife Donna of Gainesville, Jimmy Cloer and wife Ruth of Valley View and Bobby Cloer of Gordonville; sisters, Joann Ortez of Valley View, Perlene Newton and husband Norman of Valley View and Kay Kerr and husband Brad of Collinsville; a dear aunt Norma Alexander of Gainesville and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, paternal grandparents, Samuel Franklin Cloer and Mary Raymouth (Higgison) Cloer Henderson, maternal grandparents, Oscar Gordon Alexander and Pearl Lucille (Massey) Alexander and granddaughter, Kayla Cloer and great grandbabies, Penelope and Nolie.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the New Hope Cemetery, P.O. Box 521, Valley View, Texas 76272.
