Alberta L. Jennings, age 81, of 2174 Cayuga Street, passed away at Geneva General Hospital on Sunday, February 18, 2018.

Alberta was born on July 11, 1936 in Montour Falls, a daughter of the late David Hiles and Emma Updike. She was a 1954 graduate of Interlaken High School an was married to Allan Jennings on March 21, 1958. Together they raised their family in Romulus, enjoyed growing, preserving and sharing the bounty of their gardens. Once their children were on their own, she worked as the cook at Romulus Central School for several years. Alberta loved her birds, and had a treasured hummingbird collection. The family home was the hub of family dinners, parties and gatherings for all generations.

Alberta is survived by her loving husband of nearly 60 years, Allan W. Jennings; her sons, Robert (Doris) Jennings of Interlaken, Edward (Sheryl) Jennings of Raleigh, NC; her daughters, Karen Jennings-Dix of Ovid and Kay Jennings of Geneva; grandchildren, Corey Dykes, Peter (Donna) Jennings, Erin (Mike Blake) Jennings, Joseph Jacobs Jr., Brian (Audrey) Jennings, Jason Jacobs, Jessica Gayhart, Tyler Jennings, Jenna Gayhart, Mackenzie and Madison Jennings, and great grandchildren, Brooke, Sophia, Jackson, Natalie, Teddy, and Emry, and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jennings in 1999, and by her siblings, Norman, Walter, Elmo, Herbert, Charles, Albert “Buster” and Bernice Delong.
