Memorial services for Violet Joy Self, 93 of Orange, Texas, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, in Many, La. A private family burial will be held at a later date, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Violet, the daughter of Joseph Stanton Ellis, Sr. and Addie Belle Mosier was born on Feb. 16, 1922, in Orange, Texas.
She passed away on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015, in Texas.
She was preceded in death by her twin sister (Lillian Coy Ellis); parents; husband; and two grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, John El Self and wife, Iris of Whitehouse, Texas, Rebecca Elaine Self Ellis and husband, John of Port Arthur, Texas, James Carlton Self and wife, Karen of Anacoco, La., Samuel Eliot Self of Groves, Texas, Joseph David Self and wife, Becky of Orange, Texas, and Katherine Self of Silsbee, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
