KELLEY, Ruth Gouldin, of Richmond, Va., entered eternal rest on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, in her home on Hampshire Road in Henrico County. She will be dearly missed by family and friends, including her three sons, Dan (Debbie), Steve and Eric; her grandchildren, Caroline, Rebecca, Megan and Hayden; and her sister, Lucille. Ruth was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel Kay Gouldin; her father, John Gouldin; two sisters, Marguerite and Ann; her brother, John; and her husband, Bev. Born in Caroline County, Va., Ruth graduated from John Marshall High School and Westhampton College with a degree in history. She married attorney Roland Bev Kelley in 1954. Ruth began her career as an agent for a local real estate broker and later, became a broker and started her own company, Kelley Realty, which she owned and managed until retirement at age 84. A fiercely devoted mother, Ruth juggled the unyielding demands of work and parenting with alacrity and grace. She once said that her decision-making was simply a matter of answering a single question: What would be best for my three sons? The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 8, at Bliley's-Central, 3801 Augusta Ave. Burial will be private.
