Worked as Treasurer Bronx Zoological Park,NY.In 1953 William gave to the State of KS Historical Society 30 acres of hill pasture known as Mount Mitchell, as a Memorial to the Beecher Colony. Note: the Beecher Bible and Rifle Church is still active with Sunday services and is located So of Wamego, on State highway 99, approxmatelly 3 miles.
