Only daughter of Ole Paulson Lillenas and his wife, Anne Marie Jonsdtr Lillenas. She was born in what is now South Dakota before the Dakotas were separated.
She was baptized at St. Ansgar Church , Colton, in late July 1888, and confirmed in Des Lacs Lutheran, Carpio, ND on 2 Nov 1902
