Edna Marie Bentley, 89, of Midland, died Sunday, June 3, 2018 at K&K Adult Foster Care in Midland. She was born January 10, 1929 in Rogers City, daughter of the late Alonzo Tuffield and Ruby Alvina (Cooper) Booth. On February 1, 1947 she was married to Maurice O. Bentley in Ocqueoc, MI. He predeceased her September 29, 2006. Mrs. Bentley started her work career as a Clerk with Penny Tractor Sales in Sanford for five years. She later worked at SS Kesgee in Midland, working at the lunch counter, and went on to work for Woolworth's in Midland, where she retired after twenty-four years of service. Edna attended the Open Door Baptist Church in Midland and enjoyed knitting as a hobby. She knitted many mittens for the Wounded Knee Indians in South Dakota and worked with Missions in Kentucky.
n addition to her parents and husband, Edna was predeceased by two brothers; Harvey and Lyle Booth and four sisters; Barbara Booth, Loretta Schaedig, Eleanor Havers, and Luella Tolles.
Graveside Funeral Services for Edna will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2018 at the New Hope Township Cemetery.
