Lyle E. Booth, 87, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Washington Woods in Midland He was born on December 27, 1926 in Rogers City, Michigan to the late Alonzo and Ruby (Cooper) Booth. On April 17, 1948 he married Marcella Doughtery.

Lyle served his country in the U. S. Army during WWII. He worked for the Dow Chemical Company as a head operator for 32 years. Lyle was a member of the Hope Baptist Church for many years where he taught Senior Sunday School classes, lead the youth group and served as a Deacon and treasurer. When he moved to town he became a member at Open Door Baptist Church and served as a Deacon until recently. Lyle enjoyed wood, carving, camping, and traveling especially to Zepherhills, Florida.

Lyle is survived by his wife Marcella, daughters; Donna (Bill) Agle, Tammie (Kevin) Church, and Sandra (Joyce Segers) Booth, his sons; Donald (Linda) Booth, Garry (Holly) Booth, and Greg (Mark VanderWel) Booth. He is also survived by his sisters; Edna Bentley and Luella Tolles, 2 brothers; Orville and Raymond Booth, 12 grandchildren and 23 great grand children.

Lyle was preceded in death by his brother Harvey, sisters; Lorretta Shaedig, Eleanor Havers and Barbara Booth.

A Funeral Service will be held at Open Door Baptist Church on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 11:00 am with Rev. Jody Ellis officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the Funeral Home on Thursday, October 2, 2014 from 4-7 pm and on Friday, at the church, from 10 am until the time of service. Military Honors will be under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the Midland County Veterans.
