Blanche E Rhoades, 81, of North Webster passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at Miller's Merry Manor in Syracuse.

She was born on October 9, 1925, in Marshall County, Indiana, to Charles & Leah (Leeper) Mentzel.

On July 12, 1947, she married Jack C Rhoades, Sr; he preceded her in death.

Blanche owned and operated, with her husband, the Chalifoux Resort in Houghton Lake Michigan and she had worked for several local businesses over the years.

She was a member of the North Webster United Methodist Church and also attended North Webster Church of God. Blanche was a devout community worker and a caregiver to the elderly.

Survivors include 1 daughter, 1 son, 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildreng, 1 brother Noble Mentzel of Tippecanoe.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack C Rhoades.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2007, at 10:30 am at the North Webster Cemetery, Mock Addition. Pastor Scott Mann will officiate. No visitation is planned. Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, in Syracuse, is handling the arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the North Webster Community Center.
