Kenneth LaRay Redd, of Rockwall, TX, passed away January 8, 2018, at the age of 92. He was born June 12, 1925, in Douglas, AZ, to Kenneth Taylor and Rella (Cluff) Redd. On December 8, 1930, he was sealed to his parents for time and all eternity in the Mesa, AZ, temple. In May of 1943, one month before his eighteenth birthday, Kenneth enlisted in the United States Navy. In 1945, WWII came to an end and Kenneth was discharged from the Navy so he could attend Arizona Jr. College and Texas Western College, later known as UTEP. While attending college he also worked at a local bank where he met Patricia Miller. In 1956, after a nice courtship, they were married. Kenneth worked for the Department of Veteran Affairs as a loan officer and retired in 1992. After retirement, Kenneth and Pat were sealed together for time and all eternity in the Mesa, AZ, temple. Several years later they moved from Tucson, AZ, to Rockwall to be near family. Kenneth volunteered for the Dallas Temple for many years and would also work as a translator for Rockwall County during elections. Kenneth will be remembered always and missed by many.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years: Patricia Redd; children: Judy Andersen and husband Ray of Riverton, UT, Terry Bass and husband Larry of Hagerstown, MD, Kenneth Gary Redd and wife Terry of Aliso Viejo, CA, Nancy Morris and husband James of Kerens, TX, and Mary Norbury and husband Tom of Arlington, TX; grandchildren: Robert, Kenneth, Todd, Scott, Jessica, Rebecca, Melissa, Christina and Charles; great grandchildren: Christopher, James, Shawn, Dylan, Jake, Jackson, Isaac, Aaron, Jodie, Alyson, Taylor, Aubrey, Bridgette, Jameson, Sara, Clayton, Molly and Harrison; and sisters: Doris Allen and husband Arden, Nora McBride and husband Dale and Carole Taylor. He was preceded in death by his great granddaughter: Summer Lynn; and brother-in-law: Donald Taylor.

Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Monday, January 15, 2018, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 6819 S FM 549, Heath, 75032 with Bishop Chris Ash officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service beginning at 12:00pm.
