Roy Lynn Cockburn, age 80, of Harvey, AR died Monday, April 16, 2007 at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, AR of stomach cancer. He was born January 20, 1927 in Gravelly, AR, Yell County, to Charley Quinton and Beulah Cockburn. He worked as a timber contractor at Forrester for Dierks Lumber Co. until their mill closed in 1952. and Weyerhaeuser in Springfield, OR. He spent most of his life as a private timber contractor and his retirement years selling fruit and vegetables in Scott and Yell Counties in Arkansas and bordering counties in Oklahoma. He thoroughly enjoyed visiting with the many people he met and talked about their friendship. He like to fish for perch and catfish and take drives down roads in the National Forest.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charley Quinton Cockburn and Beulah Oiler Cockburn; a brother, Leonard Cockburn; a sister Louise Maxey; a son Glenn Ray Cockburn and two nephews, Bobby Maxey and Richie Cockburn.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda and Bobby Mills of Dardanelle, AR and Trisha Sikes of Danville, AR; two brothers, C.L. Cockburn of Mena, AR and Winston Cockburn of Little Rock, AR; a sister Corene White of Tulsa, OK and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside service was April 19 at Cedar Creek Cemetery at Cedar Creek, AR. Pallbearers were M.L. Morgan, Kyle Cockburn, Billy Maxey, Mike Qualls, David Williams and Robert Blankenship. Arrangements by Cornwell Funeral Home of Danville, AR
