Lucinda Almira Curtis Hunter, 88, of Wood Cross, died May 27, 1972 at the Brooks Nursing Home in Bountiful. She was born September 23, 1883 in Orangeville, Utah (Emery County) to Uriah Erastus and Lucinda Catherine Black Curtis. On July 8, 1908 she married Daniel M. Hunter, who died on April 7, 1947.
She attended Brigham Young University after which she migrated to Challis, Idaho for the purpose of teaching school. During her stay in Challis, she married Daniel M. Hunter. For a period of time their home was in Challis, later moving to and settling in Woods Cross, Utah.
Employed for a number of years by Davis County School District as director of the lunch program, member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers, EUTAW Camp. A former capital of Davis County Camp. Former Relief Society president, Sunday School teacher, and Primary teacher.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters: James C. Hunter of Bountiful; Daniel M. Hunter of Bountiful; Archie C. Hunter of Woods Cross; Mrs. Clara H. Cook of Urbana, Ohio; Mrs. David W. (Myra) Bartley of Price; also 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Brother and sisters include: Mrs. Mignon MacLean of Seattle, Washington; Mrs. Carol Chapman of Reno, Nevada; Donald B. Curtis of Santa Barbara, California.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 31, 1972 at Bountiful Union Mortuary. Interment at Salt Lake City Cemetery.
