Washington Gazette - Friday, February 2, 1894 - On Tuesday of last week Mrs. Margaret Chilcote died. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Darbyshire in the M.E. church, Wednesday, after which she was laid to rest in the Eureka cemetery.
She was born in 1832 in Washington county, Penn., and in 1852 came to Iowa and settled in this place, where she lived for 40 years. About two years ago she moved to Washington, where she died at the age of 62 years. She was a good mother, a kind Christian woman and will be sadly missed.
