Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Sherman James Armstrong; her parents James Monroe Sewell and Bessie Elizabeth Reid Sewell; her twin Sister Kathleen “Kat” Beasley (190070622) and Kat’s husband Fred.
Raised in Sayerton, a coal mining town just north of Birmingham, Evelyn moved to Warrior, with her husband Sherman in 1940, and she remained there. She was a career woman who began working at St. Regis Paper Company in 1954 and continued there for 37 years until retirement in 1991.
A graveside service was held on May 24, 2018 followed by burial at Cain Creek Cemetery.
