Leroy's obituary said his mother was Mary Elizabeth Long. When Mary married Leroy's father, Fredrick Jacob Yockel, she married him as Mrs. M. E. Long. So Long must have been the name of a first husband. Fred and Mary were married 22 Feb 1894 in Omaha, Douglas, Nebraska. I have not yet found a grave for Leroy's father, Fred. However, he died 6 Sep 1946 in Leavenworth, Leavenworth, Kansas, having married at least three times.

Explanation for the surname of his mother: Mary Elizabeth Megee was married to Leroy's father, Fredrick Jacob Yockel, as Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Long. So the surname, Long, belonged to that of a previous husband. They were married 22 Feb 1894 in Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska on 22 Feb 1894. Both were residents there at the time. I have not yet found a grave for Leroy's father.
