Clyde M. Stubbs
CHAFFEE Clyde M. Stubbs, 87, of Chaffee, died Friday, March 12, 1993, at the Chaffee Nursing Center.

He was born April 21, 1905, in Blodgett to Henry and Tempe Moore Stubbs.

On March 7, 1925, he married Ruth A. Wilson at Cairo, Ill. She preceded him in death on Dec. 10, 1988.

Survivors include one son, James M. Stubbs, Sr. and one sister, Helen Garito, both of Chaffee. Nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren also survive. Three sons and three daughters preceded him in death.

Stubbs was a prominent Chaffee businessman. where he and his father operated Stubbs Hardware, Furniture, and Funeral Home. He was active in civic and school affairs, and served on the Chaffee School Board for 24 years, and was a charter member of the Chaffee Rotary Club. He also served on the Scott County Board of Education.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee. Funeral services will be held Monday, at 2 p.m., at the First Baptist Church in Chaffee, with the Rev. Gerald Collier officiating. Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
