Died at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 1978, at Thibodaux General Hospital. He was 80 and a resident of Thibodaux. Body to be at First Baptist Church, Thibodaux, from 8:30 to 11 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. until time of services Monday. Religious services at 8 a.m. Monday at the church. Graveside services at Hasley Cemetery, West Monroe, at 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Survived by his wife, Mrs. Loraine Myers Cook, Thibodaux; one daughter, Virginia Ann Cook, Thibodaux; two brothers, Oren Russel[l], Baton Rouge, and Odgen [sic Ogden] Russel[l], Marshall, Ark.; five sisters, Odra Mathis, Little Rock, Ark., Dolly Newman, Bozeman, Mont., Olive Duhon, Opal Jones, Omah Duhon, all of Lake Charles.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Childrens' Home, Monroe or First Baptist Church Library, Thibodaux. Landry Funeral Home, Thibodaux, in charge of arrangements.
