Auburn, Ill., June 23. - At the family residence in Auburn, of Bright's disease and paralysis, in his seventy-second year, Enoch Dupy.

He was born in Dayton, Ohio.

At an early date with his parents, he removed to Keokuk, Iowa where he was married.

In 1865, he came to Jersey county, Illinois where he lost his wife, leaving Mr. Dupy in care of two young children.

In 1868, he came to Sangamon county where he has since resided following the occupation of a farmer.

In 1879, he was married to his present wife, who, with eight children, survive.

Of the first union, the surviving are: Mrs. L.D. Argo, of Auburn; and Frank Dupy, of Virden. Of the second marriage, are: Mrs. Lee Sechler [sic?], Mrs. Drury Rose, both reside at Thayer; Cora, Mabel Gladys and Aldine are at home with their mother.

The funeral services were conducted at the late residence.

The remains were taken to the Virden cemetery for interment.

Mr. Dupy was a good citizen, industrious and reliable; a loving husband and kind father.

Dupy - Died, Thursday morning, June 23, 1904, at the family residence in Auburn, Enoch Dupy, aged 70 years, 11 months, 5 days.

Mr. Dupy was born July 18, 1833 in Ohio.

His marriage to Jane Wilkins was solemnized in 1859.

His marriage with Miss Mary Alexander was solemnized in 1879.

He is survived by eight children, Mrs. L.D. Argo, Frank Dupy, Mrs. C.W. Rose, of Virden, Mrs. L.D. Schler [sic?], of Auburn, Cora, Aldena, Mabel and Gladys, of Auburn; four sisters; and five brothers,

The funeral was held at the residence in Auburn.

Interment was made in the Virden cemetery.
