John Bright, 75, went to join his beloved wife Katy on Monday, December 25, 2017. John was born on March 1, 1942 to Sam and Mary Bright in Tyler. John was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and Stephen F. Austin State University. He married Katy Marshall in 1965, and they settled in Tyler in 1980. John spent most of his life working in the oil and gas industry. He held a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed spending his free time with his children and grandchildren at the family farm. He was preceded in death by his wife Katy, parents Sam and Mary Bright, and brothers Bob and Sam, Jr. He is survived by his son Mike and daughter-in-law Sophia, son Matt and daughter-in-law April, and daughter Betsey as well as his grandchildren Kayla, Dylan, Maggie, Andrew, Katy, and Chase. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saintmay be made to Saint Jude's Children's Hospital.
