[1. Adam Berkey] Susan Miller, daughter of Yost Miller, married Adam Berkey, who lived in the vicinity of Edie, Somerset County. To this marriage there were nine children, as follows:
Henry, Peter, Jacob, Adam, Samuel, Joseph, Mary, Susan and John. Most of these children continued to live in what was the western part of Somerset and Jefferson Townships, and later Lincoln Township. This Berkey family were noted for the number of professional people in their line.
[2. Henry Berkey] The oldest son Henry, was a minister, and three of his sons as follows: Ananias, Philson, and A.F. [Abraham/Abram F.]
[3. Rev. A.F. Berkey] A.F. was a minister of the Evangelical church, and lived at Windber, Somerset County, a number of years. He also served as Postmaster of the Borough of Windber. The few last years of his life were spent in the city of Johnstown, where he died in 1928[1929].
His oldest daughter married G. S. Mowery an attorney of Windber.
Rev. A. F. Berkey's brother, William H. Berkey was a Civil War veteran married Nancy Lape.

[1.] Lena [Matilda][b. Sept. 1877][School teacher][m. Theodore T. Custer][Lena Custer in California #51230642], married G. S. Mowery
[2.] Ollie [Olive W.][b. June 1879], married in 1904, R. L. Walker [Robert L. Walker son of Alex and Agnes Walker], whose children were Bernard, Agnes, and Nedra & [Elinor Ann b. 23 May 1915].
[3.] Stella [S.] Sept. 1885 - 1956][Dunmyer Cem. #37252770], married in 1908, to R. G. Horner [George Robert Horner son of Isaac and Lucy Horner], one child Evelyn.
[4.] Ruth [C.][b. Feb. 1881], married in 1903, C. B. Buchanan [J. Clair Buchanan], had three children: Cloyd [In California #51015888], Kenneth [In California #51372605] and Caroline.
