A BRAKEMAN'S SAD DEATH. )"olin Golden, of Dunmore, Killed at Delaware Water Gap Yesterday MorningFell Beueath the Train and His Head Was Cut Off. John Golden of Bunker hill, Dunmore abrakeman on Conductor McAllister's train on the D, L & W. railroad was instantly killed at Delaware Water Gap at 6 o'clock yesterday morning. Golden fell between the cars and his head was severed from the bodv. The train left this city at 6 o'clock Wednesday evening for Port Morris and was making tho return trip when the accident occurred. Golden's hat was blown off at the Water Gap when passing on the first trip and noting tbe place he determined to secure it ou returning. He alighted from the engine, got his hat and attempted to board the train agaiu and missed bis footing. The cars were thrown off the track by the wheels passing over his body. The remains were taken to Raubs undertaking rooms in this city and later to bis home In Dunmore. Deceased was 28 vears of age and unmarried. He was secretary of the Moses Taylor Lodge B. of R. It B. and was a railroader lor several years. The funeral will bo held to - morrow morning at 9 o clock, cer vices at St. Mary's Catholic church Interment .will be made in Dunmore Catholic cemetery. FATAL RAILROAD ACCIDENT. Patrick Hogan Struck by a Train Near I'rovideuce Station. Patrick Hogan of Breaker street was struck by the northbound passenger train on the D. & II. railrotd, near the Provi dence station, at 7:23 last evening and fatally injured. Hewas walking along the track and had just crossed the bridge. He evidently became bewildered by the noisj of the approaching train and stepped from the south to the north track, immediately in front of the train. He was struck by the pilot of the loco motive and thrown some distance. His left arm, shoulder and ribs wero broken and he was injured about the head and internally. He was taken into the station and Dr. Dawson examined him and considered his injuries fatal. He was still living when taken in. the ambulance to bis home. Hogan was a miner ' in the Dickson, colliery of the D. & H. C. Co., at Green Ridge, and was an industrious and well - known citizen, working a considerable portion of his spare time in the gardens of that vicinity. He has a wife and seven children.
