James was a veteran of the U.S. Army and attended Alliance College. He worked as a supervisor at G.E. Transportation, retiring in 1992 after 37 years. He was a member of the Siebenbuerger Club, Erie Yacht Club, the G.E. Management Association, and the Apprentice Alumni Association. He enjoyed boating, fishing and bowling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and William Brady; three sisters, Ruth Lawrence, Nickey Myers and Dorothy Griffis; and a granddaughter, Allison Brady.
James is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth N. Shoop Brady; two sons, Ralph Brady, wife Dee, of Eureka, Calif. and James Brady, wife Debbie, of Hobbs, N.M.; a daughter, Tammy Bagnoni, husband Doug, of Erie; his sister, Blanch Lawrence, of N. Kingsville, Ohio; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Burial in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
