Berniece was born to Oscar and Thea (Krogstad) Jensen in an unorganized township northeast of Effie, Minnesota and died in Bigfork, Minnesota.

She went to a small school near her home and then to Bigfork for high school where she met her best friend and future husband Bud Burman. After high school when Bud went into the Marine Corps, she went to Chicago, Illinois where her sister lived and worked in an office. Before Bud left the U.S. for the Pacific Theater during WWII she and Bud were married on August 23, 1944. She then returned to Bigfork to stay with his parents.

Berniece was a bookkeeper for Northern Itasca Electric, Village of Bigfork as City Clerk, Bigfork Hospital, Anchorage Camper Center and Probst Lumber. She also did taxes for many of the area businesses and residents.

Berniece is survived by her children: Sherri (Richard) Jerry, Danny (Avis) Burman and Timothy Burman; grandchildren: Karen Oveson and Brandon (Jennie) Burman; one great-grandchild; numerous step-grandchildren; brothers: Alvin Jensen and Vernon Jensen; brother-in-law, Lawrence Blackmer; several nieces and nephews and wonderful friend Bonnie Cole.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Irene Johnson and Lila Blackmer; and her husband, Bud Burman.
