AGE 91 YEARS
Helen R. Shuster, of Lovers Lane, Kersey, died peacefully at home on Monday, May 7, 2018.
A daughter of the late William Clark and Minnie (Goswick) Overly.
On May 27, 1948, she married Ray E. Shuster who preceded her in death Oct. 19, 2015.
A member of the Center Bethel Church of God in Alverton, she loved her Lord, her family, reading her Bible, crocheting and the family dog, Colby. Helen enjoyed following current events and keeping up with the news. She hosted many Bible Studies at her home and everyone enjoyed Helen's warm and inviting personality.
She lived most of her life in Westmoreland County and the past 12 years in Kersey.
Helen is survived by her three children, Ray (Judy) Shuster Jr. of Norvelt, Diane Poole of Kersey and Donald (Priscilla) Shuster of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren, Henry Gerald Poole III, H. Grant Poole, Aaron Shuster and Olivia Shuster; a brother, Donald (Carol) Overly of Grapevine, Texas; and a sister, Elva Blackburn of Alverton.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Charles Overly; three sisters, Hilda Achtziger, Lillian Achtziger and Doris Cole; a granddaughter, Valerie Shuster; and a son-in-law, Reverend H. Gerald Poole Jr.
Private services for Helen R. Shuster will be held at the family's convenience. There will be no public visitation.
Burial will take place in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery of Benezette.
