DAVE PHILLIPS DIES

David Herbert Phillips died at his home in Blair, December 31st. Mr. Phillips was born in Delaware county, Iowa, January 21st, 1854, and came to Washington county in 1868. His parents settled on a farm about six miles north-west of Blair.

Mr. Phillips was married in 1875 to Miss Jane McManigal who’s death preceded that of her husband by fifteen years. Eight children were born as a result of the union, four of whom are still living. Mr. Phillips leaves behind him, in addition to his children, three brothers, Stephen of Blair, John of Parma, Ore., and Perry whose home is in Idaho.

The funeral services were held Friday afternoon from the L. D. S. church, the services being under the direction of Elder Lytle. Interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

Herbert Phillips died at the hospital in Blair, on Wednesday last of heart trouble after quite an illness. He leaves three children, and three brothers, among whom is Stephen Phillips, of Blair. The funeral was held at the Latter Day Saint’s church on Friday and burial made in the Blair cemetery.

A young child of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Philips, of this city, died on Wednesday and was buried from their residence at 2 o’clock this afternoon.
