Bettie married Richard Lawrence on September 2nd, 1943 at the Congregational Church in Spencer. After their marriage, they moved to the family farm in Meadow Township, carrying on the tradition that now stretches over 100 years. He was a member of the Langdon United Methodist Church.
Left to cherish his memory are daughter, Alice and her husband, Richard Kehr of Spencer; grandchildren: Mollie Kehr (Mike Maurer) of Spencer and Charlie Kehr of Des Moines, Ashley Lawrence of Des Moines, Erica (Travis) Lenig and Jarrod Holt all of Ames; a daughter-in-law, Dodie Lawrence of Ames; as well as other relatives and friends.
