Mrs. Clyde Jones Rites Held Monday at Spencer

Services for Mr. Clyde (Irma Lucille) Jones, 62, were held Monday morning, August 28, at Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer with Reverends Frederick Brown and Harrison Dawes officiating.

Burial was in Riverside Cemetery at Spencer with Warner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Allan Jones, Jerry Jones, Clinton Jones, Curtis Jones, John Jones, and Paul Maurer. Honorary bearers were Roy Fitzloff, Dean Adams, Harry Jans, Jared Fairchild, Henry Herrig, Don Doyle, Gus Bendlin, Gary Grote, Frank Miller, Bob Winters, Earl Kraft, and Rev. Leon Triggs. Mrs. Kent Zalaznik was soloist and Mrs. Melvin Joenks organist.

She is survived by her husband, Clyde of Sioux Rapids, five sons, Allan of Alton, Jerry of Sioux Rapids, Clinton of Spencer, Curtis of Sioux Rapids, and John of Sioux Rapids; one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Barbara) Maurer of Spencer; 15 grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Roy (Edna) Lawrence of Meadow Township in Clay County and one brother, Richard, also of Meadow township. She was preceded in death by her father.

Mrs. Jones was born in Meadow Township on August 27, 1915, and died at the Spencer hospital on Thursday, August 24, 1978.

She graduated from Spencer High School and for several years taught school prior to her marriage. Following marriage they farmed in Dickinson County until 1946. At that time they moved to a farm north of Sioux Rapids where they have since made their home.
